◆New Service Implementation Overview
Green Carbon Inc. hosted Japan’s largest carbon credit-focused event, the Carbon Credits Journal Forum, at the Tokyo International Forum on Tuesday, 3 February. This Forum is an offline event where over 1,000 decarbonisation players gathered in person, featuring distinguished speakers from major corporations, government ministries, decarbonisation policy offices, and GX startups. At this Forum, Green Career Academy newly implemented global-standard content and a Radio function to elevate talent driving GX from “domestic standards” to “global standards”.
Video learning content suitable for global audiences will be continuously updated and refreshed. We will not only disseminate the latest domestic trends internationally but also provide overseas developments as native information to domestic users. Green Career Academy Radio enables GX learning during daily spare moments by weekly curating the latest decarbonisation/GX/carbon credit-related news, delivered in an audio-based radio format. We have designed the service to transform all commuting, travel, and spare moments into learning time, making global and Japanese GX trends more accessible and enabling more continuous learning. ※Both Japanese and English versions are delivered in radio format.

◆Background to Service Launch
According to estimates by the Mitsubishi Research Institute, approximately 2.66 million new GX-related jobs are projected to be created over the 15-year period from 2020 to 2035. As the realisation of a decarbonised society accelerates, there is an overwhelming shortage of personnel capable of driving GX forward, and the value of individuals possessing GX skills is predicted to increase further. Furthermore, the market size for GX talent is projected to reach approximately ¥1.8 trillion (approx. $12 billion) per annum by 2025 (Green Carbon estimate), with continued rapid expansion anticipated.
Conversely, many companies and individuals face challenges such as “insufficient foundational understanding of decarbonisation”, “inability to cultivate personnel to drive GX initiatives”, and “lack of knowledge-sharing mechanisms”.
Therefore, Green Carbon, a professional in the fields of decarbonisation, GX, and carbon credits, has developed the video learning platform “Green Career Academy”. This platform systematically compiles practical knowledge and the latest trends, making them accessible for anyone to learn. It provides a service enabling the rapid acquisition of specialised knowledge, thereby supporting the development of GX talent.
◆ Future Developments
Moving forward, the Green Career Academy will evolve beyond individual learning. It will collaborate with major corporations, local authorities, regional banks, and universities to become a foundational platform supporting the development of GX talent across Japan.
For major corporations, it will support the enhancement of knowledge regarding GX and decarbonisation as an employee training tool, contributing to the improvement of company-wide GX literacy. With local governments and regional banks, it will play a role in enhancing the GX knowledge of officials and staff, while also disseminating GX concepts and practical knowledge to regional SMEs. Furthermore, through integration into lectures and educational programmes, it will promote the development of the next generation of talent well-versed in the GX field.
Green Career Academy will build an ecosystem for GX talent development through industry-government-academia collaboration, providing robust support from a human resources perspective for the realisation of a decarbonised society in Japan.

◆About Green Carbon
Guided by the vision of “Harnessing the power of life to save the Earth,” Green Carbon develops and supports projects that generate, register, and sell nature-based carbon credits both in Japan and abroad. The company is also engaged in agriculture-related businesses, R&D initiatives, and ESG consulting.
Its business activities span Japan, Southeast Asia, Australia, and South America, creating credits from rice paddies, biochar, forest conservation, carbon farming, mangrove planting, and cattle methane reduction. In Japan, Green Carbon obtained certification in FY2023 for the country’s first and one of the largest-scale rice paddy J-Credit projects (approx. 6,220 t). In FY2024, the company plans to expand this initiative to around 40,000 ha (approx. 80,000 t).
