Q.Please give us a brief introduction of yourself, including your career history.
My name is Adam Foroozan Margiadi. I’m currently a 4th year student at Ritsumeikan APU but I have also been a Research Intern at Green Carbon Inc. for the past year. In April 2026, I will be joining the team full time as an Analyst!
Q. What kind of work are you involved in? Please tell us about your job responsibilities.
So as research intern, I largely deal with documentation regarding methodology and verification of our Carbon Credits. As an intern our main roles are to focus on ensuring that all documentation is properly reported to auditors so that our Carbon Credits are valid. We also often look at new project potentials to expand GC operations.
Q. Please give a message to those who want to work at GreenCarbon.
Green Carbon is an exciting startup that is pioneering the carbon credit space in Japan. We are working with projects all over the world and have a diverse workforce. Everyone is super friendly and excited to change the world through our work!
Q. What made you want to work at Green Carbon?
I mainly wanted to work at GC after learning about Carbon Credits in my university lectures. I always wonder why we couldn’t build more green spaces to offset the carbon emissions in the world. Once I discovered that there was a whole industry that focuses on this work, I became determined to enter the field.
As such, when I found the internship opportunity at GC I immediately applied. Thankfully, I soon became an intern at the company. It’s difficult to say that the internship was an easy one, but I think the challenge of it was the most fun part. One key experience to note was working on theParametric Insurance projects. Being able to participate in the meetings and actively see the evolution from concept to pilot felt a bit surreal.
Q. What challenges have you faced so far?
The main challenges have largely been with start-up culture at the company. Due to the nature of our work, there really isn’t a blueprint to follow as we have to build the systems ourselves. Carbon credits are a fairly recent concept, so although there may be industry standards, they aren’t as set.
The hands-on experience while working as an intern has truly been an eye-opening and gratifying experience. It would be an understatement to say that the projects at GC are complex. These projects often span multiple teams and even across countries.. This made the work feel quite challenging at times as we had to figure things out on our own. Thankfully, our mentors would often chime in and help lead us into the proper direction. It’s quite gratifying to see our work actually be completed and have an impact.
Q. What would you like to take on in the future?
I think my goal is to eventually establish more projects outside of Asia. Currently, GC largely focuses on projects within Southeast Asia as our main clientele operates there. However, as we grow I think we would be able to reach much further place, such as Africa or Latin America. It would be quite interesting to see how we could expand our projects to these areas and the different methodologies that could be applied.
I hope that through this process we could strengthen GC’s role as pioneer within the Carbon Credit space and sustainable land management overall. In a way, this would truly help realize GC’s full potential.
