Q. Please give us a brief introduction of yourself, including your career history.

Hi everyone! My name’s Nadine and I’m from Jakarta. I’m currently a 4th year undergraduate  student studying at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University. I’m pursuing my bachelor’s degree in business administration, focusing on accounting and finance.

Throughout my university journey, I’ve actively sought out experiences that combine leadership, creativity, and global exposure. For instance, I served as the Head of Marketing for IOCC 2024 (International Online Case Competition), where I led a team to design campaigns that reached participants worldwide. I also contributed to TEDx APU, where I helped prepare the financial management. Beyond that, I’ve taken on language teaching roles on campus, which taught me how to communicate and adapt to diverse learning styles.

In my third year, I decided to challenge myself to do a student exchange program at Copenhagen Business School, to understand how European countries handle their sustainable initiatives. During my student exchange program, I further challenged myself to participate in a student consultant club that focuses on providing solutions to sustainable businesses in Denmark. All of these experiences made me have an interest in sustainability, finance and project management.

On the other hand, I love to listen to good music and eat a hearty meal. My personal favorite go-to meal is Soto Ayam, an Indonesian chicken soup. If you have any food and music recommendations please let me know~!

Q. What kind of work are you involved in? Please tell us about your job responsibilities.

I am currently a member of the Overseas Business Operations Team, where my responsibilities include preparing Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) manuals to support sustainable agricultural practices, assisting in training sessions, supporting budget management by monitoring expenses and allocations, and handling data entry to ensure accurate project records. Through these tasks, I contribute to the smooth operation of overseas projects while gaining valuable hands-on experience in both the technical and administrative aspects of sustainability initiatives.

Q. What made you want to work at Green Carbon?

I was motivated to join Green Carbon because it is one of the fastest-growing carbon credit producing startups in Japan, and I found the company’s mission very inspiring. I wanted to learn more about how carbon credits are actually produced in practice, not just in theory, and to gain firsthand exposure to how businesses can actively contribute to reducing emissions. I felt that working here would allow me to understand both the technical side of carbon offsetting and the business processes behind it, which is very valuable for my academic background in accounting and finance.

Q. What do you find rewarding about your work?

The most rewarding part of my work at Green Carbon is knowing that the efforts we put in have a direct impact on both stakeholders and clients, helping them achieve sustainable growth. It gives me a sense of purpose to know that I am contributing, even in a small way, to a system where businesses, communities, and the environment all benefit together. Working closely with such a supportive team and mentors also makes the experience deeply fulfilling, as I not only learn new skills but also feel encouraged to grow.

Q. What would you like to take on in the future?

In the future, I would like to be more involved in integrating sustainable initiatives into businesses, particularly in areas where finance and sustainability intersect. I believe that companies today can no longer view sustainability as an optional activity, it needs to be part of their long-term strategy. My goal is to help bridge that gap by finding ways to make sustainable practices financially viable and beneficial for organizations, while also ensuring they deliver meaningful environmental impact. Working at Green Carbon has given me a clearer vision of how this can be achieved, and I would like to continue pursuing opportunities where I can contribute to building businesses that are both profitable and responsible toward society and the planet.

Q. Finally, please give a message to those who want to work at GreenCarbon.

Green Carbon is a wonderful place to start for students from any background who are eager to learn about sustainability and carbon-related initiatives. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to work with such a supportive team and inspiring mentors, who not only guided me in my tasks but also made the experience enjoyable and meaningful.
