Q. Please give us a brief introduction of yourself, including your career history.

I’m majoring in economics at Waseda University, where I’m currently conducting empirical research on “tariff policy and international economics” using mathematical models. Lately, the unexpected comeback of a certain former president has thrown off the assumptions in my model, leaving me struggling daily to adjust my analysis. Every time I watch the news, I break into a cold sweat wondering what strange move he’ll make next to complicate things even further.

I’m also a member of a soccer club that has a semi-athletic, competitive vibe. As a third-year student and part of the main squad, I’ve been making a conscious effort to build stamina and maintain a regular training routine to prepare for upcoming matches.

Q. What kind of work are you involved in? Please tell us about your job duties.

As a member of the system development team, I am mainly responsible for interpreting the carbon credit methodologies handled by the overseas business division and organising requirements for system implementation. Specifically, I extract and organise necessary data based on the methodologies of each country and certification body, and use this as a foundation for design within the team.
As it is necessary to accurately organise complex information, I am conscious of remaining faithful to the wording of the standards.

Q. What made you decide to work at GreenCarbon?

I first knew about Green Carbon last summer while interning under former employee Harmin. At that time, Harmin was participating in a Green Carbon presentation event, and I had the opportunity to attend as well. During the event, I was impressed by the business introduction and realised how closely the environment and business are connected.
Later, through my father’s introduction, I had the chance to actually work at Green Carbon. I know these opportunities came to me more through connections than through my own abilities. But for that very reason, I don’t want to waste them. I’m doing my best to make the most of what I’ve been given, without taking anything for granted.

Q. What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

I find it rewarding to be able to challenge myself in various tasks, as it allows me to gain a deeper understanding of myself, such as what excites me and what I am not good at. Through actual experience, I believe I can discover my potential.

Q. What do you want to be in 10 years?

Through my work at Green Carbon, I have come to realise that ‘why’ is more important than ‘what.’ Ten years from now, I want to continue to challenge myself while being honest about what I love and what I really want to do.

Q. Finally, please share a message for those who want to work at GreenCarbon.

At Green Carbon, you can challenge yourself in areas you didn’t know much about before. Even if you don’t know much at first, if you work hard, those around you will definitely respond your hard work will be supported by your colleagues.
Here, you can discover what you’re passionate about and what your strengths are. Even if you lack confidence or don’t have a clear dream yet, the experience you gain here will surely help you find your centre.
