Q. Please give us a brief introduction of yourself, including your career

First of all, thank you for this opportunity. My name is Tran Thi My Tran. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Regional Society Management at the University of Nagasaki.

During my academic journey, I had the privilege of joining the Society for Social Information Studies Conference alongside my professor. This experience allowed me to engage in high-level discussions between specialists and entrepreneurs regarding regional social challenges. It gave me deep insights into Japan’s historical development and a clear vision of the actions our generation must take for a sustainable future. Additionally, serving as a Teaching Assistant helped me master the Japanese working style and bridge the cultural gap, which has become one of my core strengths.

Regarding my career history, I have dedicated the last 6 years to the Power and Energy Infrastructure sector, covering both thermal (Coal/LNG) and Renewable Energy. I began my professional journey at the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (CCIFV) as a Purchasing Staff, where I built a solid foundation in international trade.

Most recently, I served as a Supervisor at Sumitomo Corporation Vietnam. In this role, I coordinated progress between owners and subcontractors for a major EPC Coal Power Plant project in the Mekong Delta. Furthermore, I spearheaded business development initiatives for the renewable market, including onshore/offshore wind farms, industrial rooftop solar networks, and LNG supply chains. My diverse background enables me to navigate complex projects and contribute effectively to the green energy transition.

Q. What kind of work are you involved in? Please tell us about your job responsibilities.

Currently, I am deeply involved in project coordination and business planning for Green Carbon’s AWD low-emission rice projects in Vietnam. My role serves as a link between our Japan headquarters, the local Vietnam team, rice companies, and cooperatives. I ensure a seamless transition from cultivation to processing and export, guaranteeing that our products meet both local implementation standards and international MRL (Maximum Residue Limit) requirements.

It is my privilege to represent the company in meetings with strategic partners, where I facilitate cooperative planning and lead contract negotiations. To me, Green Carbon’s mission goes beyond market penetration; we are providing an indispensable solution to climate change. I am proud to be part of a movement that aligns with global trends and driving CSR on a worldwide scale.

Q. What made you want to work at Green Carbon?

I am deeply passionate about sustainability and climate action. Green Carbon is at the forefront of the carbon credit market/environmental solutions, and I admire the way company turns environmental challenges into tangible assets. I want to contribute my skills to a company that isn’t just seeking profit, but is actively making a measurable impact on the planet’s future.

Q. What do you find rewarding about your work?

The most rewarding part for me is acting as a strategic bridge between Japan and Vietnam. I enjoy the challenge of aligning the high standards and expectations of our Japanese headquarters with the practical, local implementation in Vietnam. Successfully negotiating a contract or ensuring a shipment meets international MRL standards is incredibly satisfying, as it proves that sustainable Vietnamese products can thrive in the global market.

Q. What challenges have you faced so far?

Ensuring that our rice meets the International MRL standards while following local cultivation methods is a complex balancing act. There is often a gap between local practices and the strict requirements of international markets. The Japanese working style demands extreme precision and long-term planning, while local operations in Vietnam often require flexibility to deal with immediate field issues. I’ve had to act as a stringent coordinator, constantly monitoring the process from paddy to processing to ensure every batch is compliant and ready for export to high-end markets like Japan or Europe.

Q. Finally, please give a message to those who want to work at Green Carbon.

Working at Green Carbon is a journey of constant learning. Because we are at the forefront of the carbon credit market, you will face unique challenges that require creative solutions. My advice is to stay curious and be adaptable. If you enjoy a collaborative environment that bridges international standards with local action, you will thrive here. We don’t just follow trends; we create them.
