◆ Background of Participation
Green Carbon is a leading developer of nature-based carbon credit projects, with a strong focus on Southeast Asia. Its initiatives span a wide range of activities—including forest conservation, mangrove restoration, biochar utilization, and methane reduction in agricultural systems—designed to match local ecological conditions. The company also employs advanced satellite-based monitoring systems to ensure transparency and credibility throughout its projects.
In Vietnam, Green Carbon has prioritized the reduction of methane emissions from rice cultivation through the promotion of Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) irrigation techniques. Since establishing its local subsidiary in August 2024, the company has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with authorities in ten provinces under Vietnam’s new provincial consolidation system, strengthening nationwide collaboration. These partnerships have accelerated the rollout of AWD and further supported the country’s transition toward low-emission and sustainable rice production.
Based on these efforts, Green Carbon participated in the agricultural supply–demand connection and product promotion exhibition held on the evening of November 6 as part of the commemorative events marking the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s agriculture and environment sector.

Amid the growing impacts of climate change, the Government of Vietnam has called on provincial authorities to advance efficient water use and greenhouse gas reduction in alignment with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s policies promoting Net Zero and low-emission agricultural production.
This event served not only as an opportunity to showcase provincial achievements and new technologies in agricultural and environmental management, but also as a platform for enterprises, cooperatives, and producers to exchange knowledge, share experiences, improve product quality, and expand market access in the context of increasing international economic integration.
At its exhibition booth, Green Carbon introduced the objectives and progress of its key projects to visitors, attracting strong interest from many attendees. Local government officials, in particular those committed to green agricultural policies, were briefed on how Green Carbon’s initiatives align closely with national Net Zero and low-emission production strategies promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
