Q. Please give us a brief introduction of yourself, including your career history.
My name is Gloria Karenth Tirza, though most people call me Ogie. I was born and raised in Timika, Papua, located in the eastern part of Indonesia. Growing up surrounded by rich natural forests, I developed a deep appreciation for the environment from an early age.
I moved to Japan to pursue my studies in international management, believing it to be the right place to grow both personally and professionally. Throughout university, I actively found opportunities to challenge myself by joining business competitions where I learned how to pitch ideas, conduct thorough research, and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds.I also remained connected to my roots by taking part in Indonesian Week, a cultural event where we showcased Indonesian traditions and performances to the wider university community. Living and studying in Japan has sparked my growing interest in sustainability and environmental solutions.
Lastly, I have completed two internships during my summer breaks in Indonesia, one as a market research intern and another in human resources. My first professional experience in Japan began with an internship at Green Carbon, marking an important step in my journey working in a global environment.
Q. What kind of work are you involved in? Please tell us about your job responsibilities.
During my internship at Green Carbon, I have been involved in various research and documentation tasks supporting the company’s mission in carbon project development and sustainability. My work includes contributing to Project Design Documents (PDDs), analyzing SDG impacts, reviewing Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and studying relevant methodologies for potential project countries. I have also supported the preparation of investor proposals and assessment reports, primarily assisting the Survey and Validation team. Over the past two months, this experience has deepened my interest in sustainability, and I am eager to continue learning and contributing to upcoming projects.
Q. Finally, please give a message to those who want to work at Green Carbon.
For those who are interested in joining Green Carbon, I would recommend you to apply since it is the place where you can find your potential interest and unlock new opportunities and skills since as an intern, you will be challenged to explore new tasks most of the time, where we were trained to be curious and critical.
As an intern at Green Carbon, you will get full support from everyone and learn together as well. There is always a place to grow when you work at Green Carbon, not to mention establishing connections with internal friends that come from different backgrounds of study!
