We are pleased to announce our participation in the Carbon Credit Market, which was established by the Tokyo Stock Exchange on October 11, 2023. The carbon credit market is a market for trading carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. 188 market participants, including electric power companies, financial institutions, and other private companies, as well as local governments, completed the first day of trading. On the first day, 3,689 tons of trades were concluded, resulting in the trading of credits for renewable energy and afforestation at approximately 3,000~9,000 yen.
We are currently promoting a PJ project to generate carbon credits by extending the drying-out of rice paddies, and we expect to generate approximately 14,000 t-CO₂e in partnership with rice paddy farmers, which we plan to start selling in 2024.
