Please briefly introduce yourself, including your career to date.
I am a senior at Waseda University, school of International Liberal Studies. I lived in Shanghai for four years, starting from when I was in 4th grade. Last year, I studied abroad at Lund University in Sweden for a year.
My hobby is playing sports. Recently, I’ve been really into golf, and my goal is to break 100.
What made you decide to work for Green Carbon?
I wanted to intern at a company involved in environmental business. In Sweden, I focused on deepening my knowledge of environmental and social issues. After returning to Japan, I sought a long-term internship to gain more practical experience, and I decided on Green Carbon after reading an interview article by one of their interns.
What type of work are you involved in? Please tell us about your work.
Currently, I am in the Global Sourcing Unit, where I am responsible for researching carbon credit certification and supporting the preparation of sales materials.
What makes your job worthwhile?
I find great satisfaction in contributing to the highly specialized field of environmental business through hands-on work. It’s especially rewarding to see the research and materials I’ve produced actually contributing to real business operations, which truly makes me feel the significance of my work.
Through my work, I also learned the importance of being aware of the overall process and purpose – specifically, understanding how my tasks are connected to others and contribute to the bigger picture. This has helped me move beyond simply following instructions; I now instinctively try to grasp the context and intention behind every action I take.
This continuous learning process has allowed me to develop not only specialized knowledge but also fundamental professional skills. I genuinely feel that I’m growing and improving every day.
Finally, do you have a message for those who want to work for Green Carbon?
This is an environment where you can truly make a difference, even if you don’t have specialized knowledge, as long as you have a passion for tackling societal issues. Interns’ opinions are valued, and you can get involved in a wide range of tasks, making it a perfect place for anyone eager to grow. We look forward to welcoming you!
